Blackburn
Situated in Lancashire, Blackburn is a former mill town, with textiles being produced there since the 13th Century. Following an economic downturn in the middle of the 20th century and after global changes in the industry, substantial investment has been made in the area to rejuvenate the town centre and refurbish the interior of many listed buildings.

Blackburn boasts some vibrant retail outlets, such as The Mall (formerly Blackburn Shopping centre), the Grimshaw Park retail development, the Townsmoor Retail Park and Peel Leisure and Retail park continue to bring a lot of interest to the area.
Transport Links and the surrounding area
The M65 motorway passes the South of Blackburn, making easy access to commuters and linking Blackburn to the national motorway network, with connections allowing access to junction nine of the M61 and Junction 29 of the M6.
The town is bounded in the South by the picturesque small town of Darwen, the two of them forming the unitary authority area Blackburn with Darwen.
Blackburn’s recently-redeveloped railway station continues to serve the surrounding areas, as does the revitalised bus station, which was rebuilt and reopened in May 2016. This saw the opening of a new Interchange as part of the Cathedral Quarter redevelopment project.

Blackburn tax office flats scheme approved
Sep 15, 2019Proposals by Empire Property Concepts, who last year converted the old Lancashire Telegraph offices into apartments, to convert Customs House in Blackburn into 37 flats have been given the green light by Blackburn with Darwen Council planners.
